Hawley Interviews Astronaut Chris Hadfield.8 viewsSergeant Alan Hawley of 253 Squadron Air Cadets, Lancaster, and a member of the Cornwall Flying Club, had the thrill of his life recently when he interviewed his hero Canadian astronaut Colonel Chris Hadfield who is presently in training in Houston Texas. Hadfield will take over command of the International Space Station in March 2013, when Expedition 35 begins with the arrival of NASA astronaut Chris Cassidy and Russian cosmonauts Pavel Vinogradov and Alexander Misurkin.
Sergeant Hawley had met Colonel Hadfield previously, at the Ottawa air show. The thirty minute interview, via Skype, was part of a high school civics project. Hadfield began his space career as an Air Cadet near Milton Ontario.
